Contents:

Indications for use

Tri-Lo-Estarylla is a means to prevent pregnancy.

Mechanism of action

It is combined oral contraceptive preparation. Tri-Lo-Estarylla affects the hypothalamic-pituitary system, suppresses the production of gonadotropic hormones. The result of this effect is the suppression of ovulation. Influencing cervical mucus increases its viscosity, reduces the transport function through the fallopian tubes, changes the implantation capability of the endometrium.

Mode of application and dosage

Tri-Lo-Estarylla package includes 28 pills. The pill is taken daily at the same time washed down with a glass of water. The regimen is specified on the blister. When taking 7 inert pills the menstruation will start. It may not end until the start of the next package.

Contraindications

Tri-Lo-Estarylla has no great number of contraindications. If you have any of these medical conditions it is recommended to withdraw the preparation:

  • vaginal bleeding of an unspecified cause;
  • malignant tumors of the mammary glands or uterus;
  • severe hepatic dysfunction;
  • benign and malignant hepatic tumors;
  • thrombophlebitis;
  • thromboembolism;
  • antithrombin III deficiency;
  • violation of cerebral circulation;
  • myocardial infarction;
  • sickle cell anemia;
  • genital herpes.

Side effects

Tri-Lo-Estarylla is well-tolerated. Though such a high tolerability this drug may cause the following side effects:

  • menstrual-like bleeding;
  • spotting;
  • an increase in vaginal secretion;
  • vaginal candidiasis;
  • cervical erosion.

There may be an increase or decrease in body weight, tenderness of the mammary glands, secretion from the nipples; nausea, vomiting; migraine, headache; depression; skin rash.

If you find the above symptoms you should consult a doctor.

Interactions

The metabolism of steroid hormones may be increased if taken together with barbiturates, some antiepileptic drugs (carbamazepine, phenytoin), sulfonamides, pyrazolone derivatives. A decrease in the effective concentration can also be observed with the concomitant administration with some antibiotics (ampicillin, rifampicin), which contribute to a change in the microflora in the gastrointestinal tract. When taking gestagen-estrogen birth control drugs including Tri-Lo-Estarylla, the correction of the dosage regimen of hypoglycemic drugs may be required.

What if I miss a dose?

In the case of missing a regular pill (if more than 12 hours have passed after the usual time of administration), additional contraceptive methods (spermicidal suppositories, creams, condoms, etc.) should be used until the end of this cycle. After that, the drug regimen should be renewed.

Tri-Lo-Estarylla and pregnancy

Tri-Lo-Estarylla is not required for an application during pregnancy and lactation. There is a risk of bringing damages to the fetus health. There is an evidence that hormones may enter breast milk. The composition of breast milk may be changed under the influence of Tri-Lo-Estarylla.
